Not only do you save money by not needing safe food & water but lack of rations & water during extreme temperatures can't put you in danger of exhaustion meaning only physical activity & the temperature itself only poses a danger. Web5e is in a very odd spot though where it’s simple, and customizable RULES wise, but very little CHARACTER wise. And the rules don’t do what the older editions did, advocating for giving players unique items/spells/powers to personalize their character. Meanwhile PF2e allows for a lot of customization via feats.
