Clunking after new struts

I heard a clunking noise in the front over bumps, so I replaced the struts. Now, it seems like there is a "creaking" noise whenever I go over a small bump in the road (the original nosie is gone). I can not fathom how this could be making the clunk noise but to be honest yes it is installed upside down. Still slides freely up and down the shaft. 2. If you have ever done these struts then you know there is like a foam donut thing that sits between the strut bearing and the top hat I believe.
WebMay 4, 2012 · replaced my front struts with monroe quick struts. Now the passenger side makes a clunk noise when going downhill or turning left into a driveway with steep grade. As an aside while replacing the passenger quick strut thanks to the torque wrench I ended up over torquing the mounting bolts and snapped one of the mounting bolts at the top. WebMay 3, 2014 · Here is what I have done: 1) Replace struts with bilstein struts. 2) Replaced the sway bar bushings with MOOG bushings. 3) Repaced the sway bar links with MOOG. 4) Put on Goodyear Wrangler Adventure AT tires (not related) 4) Tightened the 3 bolts between the two pieces of my 4xGuard belly guard. The ride is great.
